As we embark upon presenting the American Premiere of Heart of Darkness, we want to uphold our goal of engaging our audience with compelling new works. One way we do this is by bringing the story to life with the creative use of artwork and new technology. The rich symbolism found in Heart of Darkness’ libretto will be enhanced by the use of an immersive art installation. OP is extremely passionate about creating awareness of social issues, and in this piece we hope to strongly highlight elephant extinction prevention. In our production of Heart of Darkness, 60 giant tusks will be handcrafted as part of the art installation and will then be utilized throughout the performance as set pieces. These are an essential component for us to share this chilling story. We rely on the generosity of our supporters to bring this innovative production to the Bay Area. Each Kickstarter donation helps – contributions of all sizes are welcome and appreciated.

Our Latest SF Chronicle Review
“Sunday afternoon’s performance was a small miracle of theatrical inventiveness and musical delight. And it demonstrated yet again why this company, led by Artistic Director and Conductor Nicole Paiement along with her husband, stage director Brian Staufenbiel, has quickly become one of the Bay Area’s most indispensable artistic assets.”
